Cassandra has a revelation that if people are kind to one another, the mental health of persons in this world will be better socially and emotionally.
Practicing in the social work field for nearly two decades, Cassandra is Licensed Clinical Social Worker(LCSW-C), for the state of Maryland and a Licensed Master’s Social Worker for the state of New York. Cassandra obtained a Bachelor’s degree in political science at Pace University in 2001. She is also a 2006 graduate of Hunter College Silberman School of Social Work, where she received her Master’s Degree in social work.
Clinically, Cassandra has worked in a range of non-profits that serviced individuals that are dealing with one or more issues in their lives, which includes, but is not limited to, HIV+/AIDS, homelessness, alcohol and substance abuse/addiction.
Other areas of expertise include serving individuals who are struggling with gambling, pornography, and sexual addictions. She has had proven success working with clients who have been diagnosed with Clinical Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, ADD and various phobias. Cassandra uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Cognitive Reframing as successful treatment modalities in practice. Jonathan Adams, LMSW (they/them/theirs/he/him/his) is a graduate from Pacific Lutheran University in 2016 and currently holds a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern California. Jonathan is a licensed Social Worker in the NY Jurisdiction practicing as a therapist and school social worker. Jonathan is passionate about closing the opportunity divide for QBIPOC to live holistic lives through their advocacy and mental health services. They have worked with the Pride Foundation (PF) to help repeal the anti-trans initiative, proposition 1 in Alaska and aided in furthering the work for racial equity and anti-oppression within PF. Jonathan has co-produced a multimedia university campaign called ‘LISTEN’ discussing white privilege, sense of belonging, LGBTQIA experiences and racial bias. Currently, they are working as a 2nd Year Social Worker at East Harlem Scholars serving 100% brown and black students with trauma informed therapy interventions.
